June 30: Phenomenal event taking place at Kent Stage

From Vindy.com:  Phenomenal event taking place at Kent Stage

A downtown theater and restaurant will open their doors to ghost-hunters Saturday for the Kent Ghost Hunt.
The Kent Stage and Pufferbelly Restaurant will open their doors to ghost-hunting enthusiasts from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. for the annual Progressive Ghost Hunt. A very limited number of tickets, priced at $68, are available for the event, which is in partnership with the Spiritual Insight Ghost Hunting Team (SIGHT) of Ohio. Go to kentstage.org or call 888-718-4253.

Seasoned ghost hunters and curious newcomers will meet at the historic — and haunted — Pufferbelly Restaurant, a former train station, on Franklin Avenue, for dessert and a short tour before heading over to The Kent Stage, 175 E. Main St.

Participants are encouraged to bring cameras and equipment, and SIGHT of Ohio will provide professional equipment for use during the night.

The Kent Stage has a long and colorful history of paranormal activity. Almost everyone involved with the venue has experienced some degree of ghostly interactions over the last 10 years, according to co-owner Richele Charlton.

“We’ve seen phenomenal activity during past ghost hunts and with the recent construction in the building, there has been an extraordinary amount of activity all hours of the day and night,” said Charlton.

This year, participants will have the opportunity to tour some of The Kent Stage’s private and haunted apartments for the first time. Resident Doug Hite has lived in the building for more than a year and has felt “the presence” on more than one occasion. “I’d like to think the ghost is friendly. I think she just wants to have a good time. Sometimes she turns on the TV and then flips it right back off.”

Ghost-hunters will have the opportunity to tour the winding corridors and secret spooky spots of live-music venue. Participants will split into smaller groups to investigate the many hidden corners of the historic theater, from the basement nooks to the eerie spots on the second floor.

Halloween in Greenville, TX: Care to join a Hunt County ghost tour?

From KETR.org:  Care to join a Hunt County ghost tour?

GREENVILLE - Reservations are filling up for the Halloween weekend ghost tour and séance in Greenville when Texans visit the site of the city’s biggest conspiracy.
Only 55 people will be allowed to attend October 27 event, which revolves around the 1897 drowning of Greenville's first millionaire Tom King, his alleged mistress and another single woman. Only a bank associate, J.F. Norsworthy, came out alive in what he claimed was a freak accident during a midnight swim. Speculation as to what really happened has continued for 115 years.
Noted trance medium Dwanna Paul will conduct the tour, which includes visits to East Mount Cemetery and a Victorian home connected to the drowning. The evening concludes with a séance at the Blue Armadillo Winery (once the site of King's own bank). The event will begin at dusk (approximately 6 p.m.) and will last two hours, including the séance. Guests will board a chartered bus in the 2700 block of Lee Street in downtown Greenville for these destinations. The ticket price of $35 will also include one glass of wine prior to the séance. A camera crew will record the event.
According to Greenville Chamber Tourism Director Milton Babb, King had made a fortune in ranching, which he invested in opening his own bank and in building the elaborate and successful King Opera House.
Dwanna Paul has been featured on television's A Current Affair, Sightings, Weird Travels and Haunted Lives as a medium who receives messages from beyond the grave that help families and communities resolve the past while preparing for a brighter future.  Case studies and séances led by Paul have taken place in Waxahachie, Jefferson, Bluffton, SC and Savannah, GA.
The official ghost host hotel is the Best Western Plus Monica Royale, with special rates offered tour participants.
"We also have a couple of people who may be interested in putting together regular ghost tours in Greenville, based on the interest this whole thing has stirred up," said Greenville Chamber Tourism Director Milton Babb.

Ohio’s Kent Stage Shows Its Ghosts

From Poll Star:  Ohio’s Kent Stage Shows Its Ghosts
When the 660-capacity Kent Stage in Kent, Ohio, isn’t hosting acts like Kris Kristofferson or Steve Earle & The Dukes, it’s allowing ghost hunters to investigate the venue.
The Kent Stage doesn’t hide its paranormal presence. In fact, the stage is actively marketed as “The Haunted Stage” and the venue claims almost all the employees and volunteers have had experiences over the past decade.
In that spirit (sorry), the venue is hosting its annual Progressive Ghost Hunt June 30 from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. in partnership with the Spiritual Insight Ghost Hunting Team of Ohio. The hunt includes an investigation of the Pufferbelly Restaurant. Tickets are $68.
“We’re excited to again open our doors to other ghost hunters,” said co-owner Richele Charlton, who has had her own experiences.
“The last time we had a late-night ghost hunt it was unbelievable and amazing. We’ve seen phenomenal activity during past ghost hunts and with the recent construction in the building, there has been an extraordinary amount of activity all hours of the day and night.”
It’s unclear whether the ghosts are actually space aliens.

Ladies of the Paranormal hunting ghosts at The Ritz

From Thomaston Times: Ladies of the Paranormal hunting ghosts at The Ritz

Ladies of the Paranormal hunting ghosts at The Ritz
The threat of losing the historic Ritz Theater has garnered much attention throughout town with several fundraisers already taking place to raise money for a digital projector. However, it has also struck a chord with many groups outside the Upson County lines who want to help keep the landmark open. One of the most unique groups that has reached out is the Pike County-based Ladies of the Paranormal, a small all women paranormal investigation team. They have planned fund-raising events at The Ritz, such as ghost hunting classes, a celebrity and public ghost hunt, a paranormal team meet and greet and a 1920’s themed murder mystery night, between now and October.
Ritz owner Malcolm Neal didn’t exactly know what to think when he was first contacted by Cassie Reagan of the Ladies of the Paranormal, but he was touched that others were reaching out to help keep the theater open.
“The fact that people have rallied around this so much, and not just in Thomaston, it really means a lot,” said Neal. “I was a little apprehensive at first about the Ladies of the Paranormal coming, but once I found out they are a purely scientific based group and they use their equipment to scientifically prove if anything is there, I was very pleased.”
Like many couples throughout town, The Ritz Theater was the place that Reagan’s husband took her on a date and it is very near and dear to her, as well as to her family. It was those memories that drove her to want to do her part to help out.
“I’ve always thought it was such a beautiful old building,” said Reagan, “and it is just too important to lose. Not just for me and my family, but to so many others in Thomaston and surrounding counties.”
Due to its history and the age of the building, Reagan and the rest of her crew have always wanted to do an investigation there to see if it had any paranormal activity. As part of their investigations, they film the event for their website and the one from The Ritz will be available to view online in July. However, those who come to the Ghost Hunting 101 Class on June 30 will get a sneak peek.
“We went into the investigation blind, because we didn’t want to find out too much that might hinder it,” said Reagan. “We also were able to find some compelling evidence, which Malcolm seemed really excited about.”
Neal stated that seeing their evidence was really remarkable in an unexplainable sort of way; however he was very glad that everything pointed to there only being friendly spirits in the establishment. He also wanted to assure everyone that they are not doing anything taboo with the ghost hunts that will be taking place at The Ritz.
“These events are things that can be serious for those who want it to be, but can also just be a fun event for others,” said Neal.
The first event will be a Ghost Hunting 101 class on June 30 at the theater from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. which will explain the pieces of the equipment and how they use them. Tickets are $10 per person. This event also works hand in hand with the Public Ghost Hunt on October 25 at The Ritz; however it is not required to attend the class in order to go on the hunt. The Public Ghost Hunt will give citizens the chance to go in small groups with an actual investigator and use their equipment for a hands-on learning experience. The same premise is used for the Celebrity Ghost Hunt which will take place on September 28 and Reagan promises there will be some big name horror movie actors on hand to take part in the hunt. Twenty tickets will be available for the celebrity hunt and will be auctioned on Ebay starting at $50 each in August.
The biggest event of the series though will likely be the Murder Mystery Night held at Phoenix Rising on August 11. The night will be a “who done it” type of event set in a 1920’s speakeasy and patrons will have the opportunity to take part as a character in the story or just sit back and watch the mystery unfold. There will also be a costume contest, silent auction and “paparazzi” taking pictures throughout the night. Tickets for the event are $50 per person or $75 a couple and will be available online later this summer.
Neal is very excited about all of the upcoming events and hopes that everyone in town will come out for several evenings of fun.
“I think that it is good to bring in different groups so that we can do a variety of activities, because not everyone likes to do the same things,” said Neal, “and we have people from all walks of life who want to help. We are very thankful that the Ladies of the Paranormal chose us and think these events will be fun for all.”
The Ladies of the Paranormal are looking for donations of any kind for the silent auction and volunteers who would like to help with the events. If you are interested in helping or would like more information about the events view their website at www.ladiesoftheparanormal.com or call Cassie Reagan at 404-576-6547 or email cassie@ladiesoftheparanormal.com.

Ghost Hunt IR graduated first class of the Paranormal Infrared Associate Course

From Lexington Examiner:  Ghost Hunt IR graduated first class of the Paranormal Infrared Associate Course

This past Friday, Ghost Hunt IR held its first Paranormal Infrared Associate Course in Bowling Green, KY.  The class taught the new owners of the new E-series InfraRed Camera by Flir. It is said to be the "must have equipment" for ghost hunters who are serious about the scientific aspect of ghost hunting.
The certification class costs $325 and each person purcahsed their own infrared camera. The class discussed infrared science and standards, building science and thermal false impressions, paranormal imaging, how to document and report and more.
The four hour course also covered how to use wi-fi to send the information from your camera directly to your iPad and upload it to the internet.
This technology is new to the ghost hunting world and can really change how ghost hunting works.
Patti Starr, one of the graduates said this about the course,

Wow!! It was amazing and fun!! I finally got my dream come true. I am now a Ghost Hunt IR Paranormal Thermographer and certified to use the Flir IR camera for Ghost Hunting but most of all I learned other ways to use this awesome piece of equipment. Thanks to John Harnage who made the class top notch in every way including keeping it upbeat and fun. I get my camera in a few days once it has been calibrated. Ghost Hunting will never be the same as we keep improving our equipment and experimenting hoping to find more evidence of life after death. The best part of the class was that I learned you can’t fake it with one of these cameras and that makes it worth the expense of having one.
Ghost Hunt IR will be having more classes soon in the Bowling Green area. They just announced on their Facebook that their next class will be July 28 in Red Boiling Springs, TN. They are the corporate sponsors of Ghost Hunt Weekends and this weekend they will be at the Thomas House.

Metropolitan Museum of Art NYC Is Haunted

From SBWire:  Metropolitan Museum of Art NYC Is Haunted

New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/19/2012 -- This Saturday (6/23/12) two of New York's noted paranormal investigators will be leading a group of courageous apprentice ghost hunters through the endless wings, hallways and galleries of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in search of ghostly spirits. After these brave recruits receive a crash course in the fundamentals of ghost hunting 101, they'll be drilled in the proper use of different electronic ghost hunting equipment as well as how to detect and even photograph signs of paranormal activity.

Pete and Stew Kandel (known as Dr. Pete and Dr. Stew) noted paranormal investigators and licensed NYC tour guides aka the “Ghost Doctors” have been exploring the Met like a scene out of those Indiana Jones movies in their quest to find some ghostly inhabitants. And it seems that they have unearthed some strange goings-on within the walls of this enormously imposing iconic museum.

“We have been investigating the Met for quite some time and have uncovered some strange and at times bizarre paranormal phenomena,” says Dr.Pete. “And this Saturday night's ghost hunt should be really exciting, considering this museum has the largest collection of priceless and ancient artifacts in the world. So if we're a bit lucky, a ghostly spirit who is somewhat attached to an enchanted piece of art may just stop by and pay it a visit and the Ghost Doctors will be there to catch a glimpse.”

UK: Ghostbusters call for help with West Bromwich museum vigil

From Birmingham Mail:  Ghostbusters call for help with West Bromwich museum vigil

Manor House Pub, Hydes Road
REAL-life ghostbusters are needed to uncover ghoulish goings-on at a former medieval manor house, said to be one of the UK’s most haunted buildings.
The vigil and ghost hunt takes place at the former Manor House Pub, Hydes Road, West Bromwich, on June 30 and organisers want to contact the many spirits believed to be present.
The Manor House is a magnificent, Grade I listed, timber beamed property that dates back in places to 1270. It was extended and added to during the 15th and 16th centuries.
Chris Arnold, boss of paranormal events company Eerie Evenings, said the venue, now a museum, was one of the spookiest the organisation has ever visited.
He said: “The Manor House was the setting for some of our first ever public events and always proved very popular with the public. Now, after lying empty and unused for some time, it has been given a new lease of life.”
During previous ghost hunts at the venue a succession of spooks have been spotted.
Sarah Dodwell
Mr Arnold explained: “Several of the team members had their most convincing experiences there, including balls of light floating across the room, heavy footsteps belonging to no-one, the full apparition of a monk, exploding light bulbs and slamming doors.”
Apparitions include a bearded man, a grey-haired old lady and a cloaked figure gliding down stairs and through closed doors. There has also been sightings of a young girl peering from a top, inaccessible floor and frequent tales of a black cat darting through people’s legs on the staircase leading into the great hall.
This moggie spirit has been seen several times since The Manor House reopened as a museum.
The event will include psychic readings and a tour of the building. Once darkness has descended, the vigil will begin and guests will be able to take part in various paranormal experiments.
Anyone interested in becoming a real-life ghostbuster, should contact Eerie Evenings on 0845 201 3994 or visit the website at www.eerie-evenings.com

Manila: Ghost Buster

Manila, Philipines:  Ghost Buster

Year in and year out, many people go to the city of Manila for one sole purpose – to hunt for ghosts. Not only undergrads and fresh graduates from local universities, but people from all walks of life and all ages come to Manila to look for phantoms of the night, eerie supernatural creatures, and all manner of disembodied marauders from the great beyond. Not only minors seek that peculiar kind of thrill of brushing with the unknown and the unseen, many adults also like frightening themselves with the thought that they are in the watchful presence of these denizens of obscurity, usually unseen by human eyes.

However, if you ask Mayor Alfredo S. Lim – a.k.a. Dirty Harry – if he believes in ghosts, he will look you straight in the eye, with a smile as discreet as it is mysterious, a knowing glance that you have to interpret by yourself. Dirty Harry might also laugh and ask you if you have indeed seen or perceived the presence of ghosts, as most psychics claim they do. Have you felt their spine-chilling vibes?

Understandably, there are several spots in Manila where people expect to see ghosts. Groups of students come to my office to ask permission to set up their ghost busting contraptions at the Army Navy club, for instance. Due to the antiquity of the place, the personages who have passed through or even spent a couple of nights there, or the tragedies that occurred within its walls during all the wars that have blighted our land, the ghost-busters are convinced that the Army Navy is indeed the ideal place for such close encounters with tortured souls.

Another likely spot is the Metropolitan Threater, that jewel of Art Deco that has also witnessed many painful vicissitudes. At the start, Kuya Germs (German Moreno, mentor of Vice Mayor Isko Moreno) chided me for allowing these ghost busters to invade his beloved Met, specially during All Souls day and Good Friday. However, I convinced him that it might make the public more aware of the Met’s plight and a cultured philanthropist might suddenly endow it with the millions it sorely needs.

To the disappointment of these persistent ghost busters, they have had no sightings yet and I believe it is because they are looking in the wrong places and for the wrong type of ghosts. Naturally, for obvious reasons, I am not about to reveal that the only ghosts in Manila are not found in its cemeteries nor in its significant heritage buildings like the Army Navy and the Met; these vaporous beings are found only in the City Hall itself, according to an unimpeachable source who has of late turned into a ghostbuster – no other than Dirty Harry himself !
