June 30: Phenomenal event taking place at Kent Stage

From Vindy.com:  Phenomenal event taking place at Kent Stage

A downtown theater and restaurant will open their doors to ghost-hunters Saturday for the Kent Ghost Hunt.
The Kent Stage and Pufferbelly Restaurant will open their doors to ghost-hunting enthusiasts from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. for the annual Progressive Ghost Hunt. A very limited number of tickets, priced at $68, are available for the event, which is in partnership with the Spiritual Insight Ghost Hunting Team (SIGHT) of Ohio. Go to kentstage.org or call 888-718-4253.

Seasoned ghost hunters and curious newcomers will meet at the historic — and haunted — Pufferbelly Restaurant, a former train station, on Franklin Avenue, for dessert and a short tour before heading over to The Kent Stage, 175 E. Main St.

Participants are encouraged to bring cameras and equipment, and SIGHT of Ohio will provide professional equipment for use during the night.

The Kent Stage has a long and colorful history of paranormal activity. Almost everyone involved with the venue has experienced some degree of ghostly interactions over the last 10 years, according to co-owner Richele Charlton.

“We’ve seen phenomenal activity during past ghost hunts and with the recent construction in the building, there has been an extraordinary amount of activity all hours of the day and night,” said Charlton.

This year, participants will have the opportunity to tour some of The Kent Stage’s private and haunted apartments for the first time. Resident Doug Hite has lived in the building for more than a year and has felt “the presence” on more than one occasion. “I’d like to think the ghost is friendly. I think she just wants to have a good time. Sometimes she turns on the TV and then flips it right back off.”

Ghost-hunters will have the opportunity to tour the winding corridors and secret spooky spots of live-music venue. Participants will split into smaller groups to investigate the many hidden corners of the historic theater, from the basement nooks to the eerie spots on the second floor.
