Spirit Faces, by Mark Macy

Spirit Faces: Truth About the Afterlife, by Mark Macy
WeiserBooks, 2006
161 pages, no index, 24 pages of color photos
Library: 133.9 MAC

Description
Spirit Faces is a visionary book based on Mark Macy's fifteen years of research into life after the life we know in this material world. Macy's work with ITC (instrumental transcommunication) has included receiving messages from those who have passed by means of TV, radio, telephone, computer, fax machine, and now through Pollaroid photography. In this book, he weaves his groundbreaking information, along with evidence from other researchers, into a fascinating account of life on the other side.

Spirit Faces may seem, as Mark Macy states, "a bit spooky at first," But this is not a scary book. It is a travel guide for the journey we all are making-in this body and beyond.

Your Reincarnating Child, by Gilbert Childs and Sylvia Childs

The title of this book is misleading - it actually doesn't deal with children who have been reincarnated, but rather children who have been "incarnated" and how to raise them.

Nevertheless, I thought the subject matter was so interesting that I thought I'd share it here anyway!

Your Reincarnating Child: Welcoming a Soul to the World, by Gilbert Childs and Sylvia Childs
Sophia Books, 1995
169 pages plus Notes and References. No index and no photos
Library: 133.9013 CHI

Description
The primary contention of this book is that...us lives beyond death, and eventually returns... [Text obscured by library sticker!] With this knowledge in mind, the authors give much sound practical advice as to how parents, and others who spend time with children, can welcome a soul to the world and help it grow into a healthy and responsible human being.

Mainstream educational policies and practices can result in children being pushed prematurely towards adulthood, before having had a chance truly to experience childhood. As the authors demonstrate, an understanding of the nature of the human being as comprising body, soul and spirit leads to the conclusion that every child should be allowed to grow slowly into the world.

'One of the main purposes of this book,' writes the authors, 'is to demonstrate that human beings are primarily of spiritual nature, and only secondarily of bodily nature.' They explain how these two natures complement each other in the processes of maturation and development from the period before birth, or incarnation, to maturity. As well as a firm philosophical grounding, Your Reincarnating Child discusses critical questions surrounding the pre- and antenatal periods, including issues connected to clothing, food, play, work, technology, discipline and much more.

Crossing Over, by John Edward

Crossing Over: The Stories Behind the Stories, by John Edward
Jodere Group, 2001
259 pages, no photos, no index
Library: 133.9 EDW

Description
John Edward is changing the way millions of people think about life after death. High nightly show, Crossing Over with John Edward, has been the talk of the television industry since it first hit the airwaves in June 2000 on the Sci Fi Channel. Now, as Crossing Over becomes nationally syndicated, the first-ever psychic television host takes his millions of fans behind the scenes of his life, his work, and his breakthrough program.

In Crossing Over-the book-John brings his readers with him on the extraordinary journey that has been his life since his New York Times bestselling One Last Time was published in 1998.

In the style of his TV show and personal appearances-poignant, funny, and remarkably candid-John deals head-on with the controversial issues he has confronted on his voyage as a psychic medium. Readers might be surprised to learn that it hasn't always been smooth sailing. On the way to becoming an internationally celebrated medium, , John has had to learn his own lessons about the meaning of his work and about the motivations of some of the people he has met on his path.

The book also tells the powerful stories of the people John has encountered and the spirits that have accompanied them: the songwriter from Tennessee whose famous father comes through, setting off an extraordinary chain of events leading to an amazing discory in a memorabilia show in Dallas.

The science teacher who leaves her dying grandfather in a nursing home to come to a group reading with John-and finds her grandfather coming through half an hour later, saying he wanted her to leave his bedside so she could report back to the family that he had crossed over safely.

The young woman working on a project with John whose murdered boyfriend interrupts a taping session to tell her it's all right for her to move on.

And John's own quest to hear from another medium the words he's waited a decade for: the signs he and his mother agreed she would give him from the Other Side to tell him she was okay.

Through these stories and many others, John brings peace and insight to those who grieve for their loved ones.

Readers of this book will be captivated by the wit, warmth and passion that John brings to his work, and by the stories behind the stories that have riveted millions of viewers of his landmark program.

Book: A Ghost in My Suitcase, by Mitchel Whitington

A Ghost in My Suitcase: A Guide to Haunted Travel in America
by Mitchel Whitington
Atriad Press, 2005

Description
Pack up your traveling shoes, fire up the family car, and prepare to hit the road for a haunted tour of America. Whether you're wandering the dark, dank catacombs under the city of Portland, Oregon, or exploring a Florida bed and breakfast where a heartbroken bride still walks the hallways, you will find this book a spine-tingling good time. Take a spirited sweep across the country - fifty states, and fifty haunted destinations. Each one has a ghostly tale to tell, and all are public places that you can actually visit any time you are in town. If you dare.

Walk the hallways of these places with the author and hear their stories and the fascinating history behind them. Read personal, first-hand accounts of the chilling encounters the author experienced while visiting them: a mysterious rapping on the headboard of a majestic Arkansas resort by some unseen hand; a female spirit who wanted a Wyoming hotel room all to herself; and the phantom figure of a man with a long, gray beard who walks a historic garden in Texas. You will also discover how to visit a haunted library with on-line cameras to allow a paranormal investigation from your own home computer.

Grab your suitcase and get ready - it's time to go ghost hunting across America!

Table of Contents
Normally I share the Table of Contents of books, but this one is 50 entries long, one for each state of the Union, including Hawaii and Alaska!
